Hi everyone,

I am new to the site and new to Hummer. I just bought an H3 '07 Lux and I have a couple questions to start my experience out.


1) What are the specs of the Monsoon system?

I ask because I have a pair of 12" Rockford P2's and a Rockford 900 watt amp that I have from my old car. I had planned on putting them in any new car but when I found my H3 I was suprised to see it had an "upgraded audio system" already in it. I'd rather not mess with the H3 if I don't have to but if the Monsoon system is significantly less I might.

2) Where is a good place to look for inexpensive H3 accessories?

My vehicle, unfortunately, didn't come with the chrome package. I want to get the handles and side mirrors replaced in chrome first. And then get steps (nerf bars I guess then are called?) next. I don't want covers though, I'd prefer to actually replace the handles.

Between ebay, gstyle4u.com and hummerpartsclub.com, I've been able to find everything I need but there's probably 100 more places you can find by searching google. I replaced the door handles too. I didn't want the overlays and the handles themselves weren't too expensive ($140 on hpc.com) or hard to change. For the mirrors I traded with someone who wanted to change to black, so you might be able to find someone on one of the forums that wants to do the same thing. Then you could get the mirrors and handles at one shot.

 

Motley- thanks for the help. I'll check those sites out now. Do you have any info on that monsoon system? I looked around the site but i don't see the specs.

 

Keep searching and you should be able to find something on it. I know there are a lot of threads on harnesses for replacing the Monsoon head unit and a bunch of knowledgable people here so someone should have the info you're looking for.
