Default Coolant in my tranny

Well today the H3 seemed to be slipping, and the power seemed to be down. Ive had a few issues with low coolant and when I checked the tranny fluid it wasnt right. My fingers were dry within a minute. Im can only assume I have a leak in my tranny cooler. For those that have had this problem how much did it cost for you to get it fixed? I have right at 80k miles and its and '07

I know there was a TSB for this but never a recall. I would definitely check with the dealer before fixing it.

Called GM and the powertrain is still under warranty, they towed it to the dealer and are going to check it out today. When asked about the service history, I told the guy to look at his computer! Oh, he says. Everything that has ever been done to it was done at the dealership. He thinks most of it will be covered under warranty.

good luck... this is probably one time it was "cheaper" to have all your service done at the dealer....

I didn't think that would be covered under the powertrain warranty, heck no rush to put in an aux tranny cooler then.

I would be pushing back hard if they want to charge you anything for the repair. That clearly seems to be a powertrain issue and you have a powertrain warranty. Unless they can point to some fault on your part that caused this problem, it seems to me this is a 100% warranty issue.

Well, just got the phone call from GM. Since the radiator/transmission cooler is the culprit it is not considered "powertrain" and therefore not covered under the warranty. Its time to get aggressive. Grab a beer and look towards NW Arkansas Im sure you will see some fireworks and maybe even a head fly up into the sky soon.
