Considering an H3

Considering an H3
So, I test drove an H3 today and loved the rugged, tank like features.
There are some pretty sweat deals out there right now, 0% financing for 60 months or 3 year lease for for $299/mth and 2,200 down.
I have never had a Hummer before, what should I know, good, bad, or ugly?
By the way, any difference between the 07 and 08?

RE: Considering an H3
All vehicles have their pros and cons. Most of us drive a HUMMER because we think they're cool. Not many cars or trucks will make people say "Oh! You have a _______?" That could be good or bad depending if they're a left wing eco-**** or not. Most HUMMER drivers lean pretty hard to the right.

gas mileage is not as bad as some people make it out to be either. I have an Alpha, and just got back from a road trip, about 400 miles each way. I got 16.98 MPG going there and 17.23 coming back. This was @ 70mph in a pretty stiff wind in VERY hilly terrain. I'm pretty pleased. I've got about 1400 miles, so it's still breaking in. You'll love the truck though. Very comfy at cruise, and a monster off road. Good daily driver!

I bought mine vs leasing it since I'm taking it offroad and plan on having minor wounds from offroad- desert pinstriping, larger scratches and possibly dents. I figured I would get screwed by all the lease clauses. I've also plan on add-ons that I don't want to take off in three years.
If you are offroading I would recommend purchase. If you 99% pavement, go with whatever.

If you lease it and hate it then you only have to live with it for a short time... If you love it and drive the wheels off of it then you'll end up having to buy it to avoid penalties...
If you buy it and hate it then you only have to live with it for a while before you can trade it in and come out even... If you buy it and love it then it's happily ever after....

Alrock, think I saw your Hummer a few weeks back. I have an office off of N. Tatum and East Paradise ( Cactus ) Think I saw it in a parking lot by an Outback Steakhouse. Anyway Nocturnal I agree, if you are going off-roading much I would buy because the lease companies will bend you over. If not then it probably doesn't matter which way you go.
