Default chrome vs polished stainless

My H3 has the factory chrome package but I just added the Aries polished stainless nerf bars and they look a little darker than the rest of the trim (almost a slight yellow or gold color).I want to get the polished stainless brush guard but I'm not sure the stainless is matching the chrome exactly. Has anyone else noticed this?

Polished stainless does look different than chrome, albeit slightly. The chrome may pit, flake or chip over time, but the stainless will wear better. You really should decide how much the slight color difference bothers you, as it is better to go with the polished stainless on the brush guard as it will endure more abuse, such as rocks, brush, deer[], shovels, etc.

I notice stainless scatches easy but chrome does pit and they do not match.

I guess I'd rather have a slight color difference than have the chrome peeling off.

You might give some thought to where you live. Here in Ohio, "The Rust Belt" chrome is short lived. I had a set of chromed wheels go belly up in one year! I would only do stainless given a choice!
