Default Chrome replacement

Hey guys,

I'm curious if anyone knows of any sources to replace all the exterior chrome parts on my 2006 H3....door handles, grill, mirrors, all of it. I'd like to go with the black powder/carbon look. I've been doing some searching on the internet, but having trouble finding replacements that aren't already chrome or stainless.

Thanks,
Dave

Dave,
I would think a member here with a base model might be glad to trade you parts for their black stuff.

I purchased a set of billit chrome door handles and (when I get around to it) am going to powdercoat them a satin to flat black. I don't care for the plastic door handles GM provided on the H3 (the black or the chrome). The chrome gas door is also going to be powdercoated. As for the mirrors and grill, I'm going to LineX those.

I'm happy to hear that I'm not the only one who is liking the all black look, sans chrome.
I still can't understand why people want chrome on an off road vehicle, like the H3 ?
I imagine they are the same ones who would put snow tires on a Ferrari.
Possible, but just not logical.

So what is wrong exactly with chrome on an off road vehicle? If I had a ferrari I would sell it and buy more Hummers

Chrome looks best when it is clean and shiny. The real world of off road driving has taken my H3 near bushes and small trees and rocks. Having no chrome and black plastic in its place, is a much easier fix if things get scratched or dinged up. Black plastic also looks better than chrome until you do the appropriate fixes.
A bad scratch in chrome is no easy fix, if it can be fixed at all.
When I have gone out with hunters they don't want any chrome shining in the sun and scaring off the potential game.
When I was a kid and all the new cars came out, chrome was king !
Hell, custom cars had chrome ever where.
Now, it may be just me, but a non-chromed off road vehicle just seems right.
Those chrome brush guards are a total dichotomy.
and my comment about the Ferrari was analogy.

Oh well that makes sense, I never really worry wether it is going to get scratched up though. It's been under so much mud I forgot what color the truck was. I don't usually hunt in my truck so didn't really think of that. I'm waiting for for a good ding so I have an excuse to camo it.

Maybe you should hang out with fishermen?

Know any good spots here in Nevada?
I never had good luck at fishing.
I probably would hook a chrome bumper from an old Chevy.

i went to a bike show and the reason i dont like chrome is, if you have it it should shine, all the time. and when your at a show and its dirty it makes you look like a lazy rich sob. lol and on trucks theres times i want to blend in a little lol
