I don't know whether we do or do not have child safety locks.

I do know that when my H3 was added to the auto insurance, AAA credited at least 5 discounts for 'standard' equipment that i didn't even know i had. So someone included optional equipment that must be 'extra safe'.
(my what a good thread, red hot)

It seems everyone knows about the woman that sued mcdonalds, becuase she was stupid and put hot coffee on her lap, and "won" several million dollars

However 3 months after McDonalds requested an appeal and won, and DIDNT HAVE TO PAY HERE A DIME
Wrong.....

A lot of people cite this case as the example of frivolous lawsuits in our judicial system, but few take the time to find out the facts.

1)The 81yr old woman received 3rd degree burns which required skin grafts and a lengthy hospital stay.
2)It was shown that McD makes a tremendous amount of profit from coffee sold and kept the temperature of said coffee at an extremely high temp of 185 degrees to minimize the free refills because of the amount of time it takes for the coffee to cool down enough to be able to drink it. Liquid at 185 degrees can cause 3rd degree burns in as little as 2 seconds requiring skin grafts and burn treatments costing tens of thousands of dollars. At that time (1994) there had been over 700 incidents settled by McD due to scalding from hot coffee, yet they refused to lower the temp that the coffee was served to customers.
3) The 81 yr. old woman had never filed a lawsuit before and only did so after McDonalds refused her request to pay her medical bills.
4) The punitive damage verdict was reduced from 2.7 million (2 days coffee sales) to $480,000 which she received...

What is the status of your grievance with GM regarding the child lock sticker?

GM claimed it was a window sticker put on by the dealer, not by GM direct. They contacted the dealer for me and told them to make it right. Sales manager called me and offered to make 3 months payments for me and to extend my warrenty.

HG123, It's not that my chain is easy to pull...I just hate stupid people.
