my check engine light on my 06 adv came on at around 36000 miles i need to change the oil in the next fifty or so could that make it go away?

 

If your onstar is working, i would hit the button and let them perform a Diagnostic check.
When my Eng. lite came on, it was because of a Powertrain code coming up.

 

i dont have on star i changed the cd player to an in dash im taking it to my dealer on wendsday to do the oil change its still under warranty so il post what they find out

 

Nope. The CEL has nothin to do with an oil change, separate light for that. Go to an auto store with a free code reader service and post back up what code #s you have.

 

alright just took it to the dealer today i got within a mile of the dealership and the check engine light went off, so the dealer pulled the code and said something with emmissions but had no idea why so it runs fine. gm dealership gets pissed when u bring it in alittle dirty lol
