CB mounting location
Anyone have any inventive CB installation ideas?I have a full size radio. Is there a way to secure it to the overhead? Has anyone seen a overhead compartment like the ones that attach to the visors?

This is the most inventive one I've seen. But of course you would need to replace the stock radio.
The only other full size CB I've seen installed was mounted to the top of the dash. A lot of people (myself included)use the Cobra 75 and mount the control box in the dash/center console or under a seat.

I like many others have the 75 in the dash with just the tip sticking out to plug the mic into. I actually went a step further and got an adapter to run moth my cb and my radio off the same antenna so I did not have to install an antenna. However if you want to use your big one, what I had done in my Ford Ranger was I just got a strip of metal about 6 inchec wied and long enough to reach between the visors, drilled holes to match the visor holes and placed it under the original visor holes with the cb mounted to it so that way I did not have to drill any holes in my truck.

I can not find the make or model, but I have attached a few pictures. I originally purchased it from JC Whitney a couple years ago when I was in Iceland, but I was not able to get my hands on the GM adapter for the wires over there and then a couple months ago, I found it in a box when we were moving so I put it in. It works great. I still need to tune it to get better range, but when I go off roading with other people we are close enough to eachother that it works really good. I put it behind my glove box and have not had any issues.

I love your mount Antenna mount. That is exactly what I had started to do. I ran the cable and all I needed to do was drill the hole for my antenna, but then I found the adapter and decided to go that route instead. As a matter of fact it was only about a week ago that I finally got around to removing the antenna wire that ran from my center console to the spare tire.
