The Hummer had it beat until the editors weighed in with their opinions...

Have to admit that based on the article I was surprised at the final conclusion. Everything up to the final couple of sentences led you to believe that the Hummer was the winner in this comparison.

Did anyone else notice that they used the Rubi but not the off-road package on the H3? Also, for a real comparison, they should have used the 5-cyl instead of the alpha. They dismissed this however because they hadn't tested an alpha yet. Who cares? Keep the comparison apples to apples.

I believe the H3 would have won with adventure package and no luxury. Price would have been in-line and performance would have been on par.

I was expecting to hear from some dikk with the initials CHP in their name to pipe in with facts about Camaros or something else off the topic of the thread, and suggest how Jeep and Hummer should manufacture their product. Especially since this thread doesn't ask for that opinion.

This one's for you IK, thanks for sending that dikk my way.

Now what was this about......? Yes, I agree, they should have compared the Adventure to the Rubi for a better article, but that is what I would expect from the source. [&o]

If they compared apples to apples Hummer would have won hands down. I thought that the article was going to give the nod to Hummer. Why wheel without lux. and a/c?

<----YAWN

Doc is right...car and driver blows. I didn't read the article cause I don't read anythign associated with that rag....it's all nonsence.
ANYONE that thinks the H3 adventure STOCK could beat a rubi stock off road is out of their minds. No need to post anyting else about it...it's just not a fair comparison.

IMPY you did not miss much. Bottom line is the whole story read like this:

We went off-roading where people used to mine salt back in the 1800's. We visited a Ghost Town and saw jets fly overhead alot. And OH yeah I almost forgot to mention we rode in a H3 Alpha and a Jeep Rubicon it was really cool!

What a waste of time.
