If you order an Alpha, can the chrome package be deleted? Just wondering...

 

I doubt it. The dealer is limited on what options he can order from the factory. Perhaps the dealer would work with you to de-chrome with replacement parts. That will cost you though.

 

My dealer said he could not delete the chrome when I asked but he did say he'd work with me and swap out the standard parts from a non-Alpha for my chrome pieces. I guess he figured he could throw it in as a freebie as an incentive on a deal to someone looking to get the chrome package on a non-lux H3 but not wanting to pay the extra for it. In the end, I decided to keep the chrome and replace it later if I decided I really don't want it.

I was also very pleased with how flexible my dealer was. I had to threaten very seriously not to buy a Trans Am in '86 when I was trying to get the salsman to swap the "Super Chicken" hood off the car for a blank, stock hood. It took quite a bit of arguing before he agreed. The Hummer dealer was like, "Sure, whatever you want."

 

Patches: I remember the "super chicken" on the hoods. I had an 86 Light Metallic Blue Formula with the 350HO and whale tail to avoid the chicken
and the flares andfront spoiler gig. Even peeled off the "formula" lettering decals. I was stylin.........

I do not believe you can delete the std Chrome App pkg, yet.Maybe someday. How bout a chicken on the hood? [&o]

 

I tried, but they said no...I have grown to like the mirrors and handles, but the wheels and grill are GONE

 

Can you just add the V8 engine to an Adventure Package with out the chrome?

No. I tried to get the dealer to give me a credit for the chrome wheels and tires or give me the cheapest, palinest wheels and tires they could and they would not do it. Said they had to order it from the factory that way. Wish the "wilderness ready " Hummer would make it's debut.
