Worst case....If I have to replace the motor, what will that cost for a 6.5? Am I better off putting in a duramax and Allison transmission? After poking around on the web, everyone is talking about it.

 

I have had 35 dif mil m998, 1038 ,1045, etc 5 h1s best one was 95 gasser now have h3 love it

 

I travel around. Live in Texas. Spend time in CA, CO. If you buy a reman and have a dealer install it would cost 10-12K. If you buy a new crate motor probably 15K. I bought a 10,000 mile take out heavy block motor from Predator Motorsports for a fraction of that. They treated me well on the transaction. I got the matching 4L80E tranny and transfer case also. It was a takeout for a Duramax conversion. The DMax conversions are running 35-50K these days. Not worth it in my opinion. My brother knows that you might contact him. If it is the white OT he has looked it and it has rust/corrosion issues.
