Default burst radiator line in tranny

I recently took my 2007 h3 in for the the 50k service there was also an engine light on. I got a call from service that a cooling line from the radiator burst in my tranny and that I needed a new trans and radiator initially told that since Im the original owner that GM will pay for the replacements and labor (total about 6k!!!!) minus a 250.00 deductible. I didnt argue and told them to fix it. Has anyone else run into this problem and why wouldnt it be totally coverd by the 100k drivetrain warranty???????
Thanks
whew!!!!!

The radiator is NOT part of the powertrain. The 100K factory warranty is a powertrain warranty only. Hence the deductible.

Yes, we have heard of this issue with the H3s radiator. The line does not burst in the transmission. The cooling line runs from the transmission to the radiator. What happens is the transmission cooler build into the radiator cracks which will crosscontaminate both the engine coolent and the transmission fluid that will eventually pumped back into the transmission. Engine coolent and transmissions are not friends.

Thanks for the info. Do you happen to know how offen this happens (percentage?) I was told by the service rep that it happens on the 2006 and 2007 h3 models but only about 1.5 %?

Default Transmission - coolant contamination

Sorry to hear this happened. If you are the original owner and get your car serviced at the same dealer they may give you dealer loyalty pass and charge for the what they call deductible. I think it may be a case to case basis. I hope you come out OK. If your service dept gives you the run around you may want to call Hummer service direct through Onstar. When I have done this they have been pretty helpful. Good Luck
