Bug Deflector/Shield

Has anyone used subject? Here is a link explaining how it is installed:

I also wrote to one company in NY asking how much this would cost for an H3, and if there was a company in northern NJ which does this work.
Is anyone familiar with this solution and if it is cost-effective and actually works?

That looks really cool.
I wonder how it stands up to the repeated use of windshield wipers ?
Post the cost for the H3 when you hear back from them

Here's the response I received:
SORRY RICHARD THER IS ONE ONE IN NJ. WE WOULD GET 175.00FOR THE JOB

On his website he indicates that this is guaranteed for 12 months/12,000 miles, and that it stands up well to windshield wipers. I am not sure that it is worth it at this price if I had to have it redone every year or so. It all depends on how many times the windshield needs to be replaced. I don't expect that it could be that often.

I use a spray product called "bugoff" from griotsgarage.com Living here in florida, we have love bugs, and they will eat into your paint overnight. I just spray the front of my vehicle before a trip and when I arrive, i just do a qwik wash on the nose. Have not had a problem in 4 years of using the stuff. While you cant us it on the windshield, you can cover the lights and mirrors. Not exactly what your looking for, but worth a try. Having 2 german coups and the H3, I wont ruin the look of my cars with a bug shield.

That price does seem a little out of line considering it last only 12 months
I'm sure that 12 months may be an average as well.
I have had two rocks hit my three year old factory windshield and I have had them immediately taken care of by the Windshield Doctor here in town.
My insurance has paid for both repairs, about fifty bucks
The windshield looks pretty good now.
If I get another hit and it really bothers me, then windshield replacing will be a consideration.
Save your money and buy some other toy for your rig.
