The H3X should have had one from the factory. It is part of the X package.

For looks or actual offroad use? If you want real protection against rocks, deer, zombies, etc. and can swing it go for an actual bumper with integrated brush guard like an ARB. Personally, I cheaped out and just wanted a bit of protection against brush and small branches that hang across some of the trails around here. Well, that and looks. A lot of different styles to choose from, so if you are in it for looks and or brush then start by picking the style you want.

I know some disagree and feel a brush guard is good protection against things like hitting a deer. Anecdotes aside, I don't think a simple brush guard can compare to a full replacement bumper with welded on grill bars.

Default Brush guard

Thanks for the info. Actually looking for something to keep deer damage down if hit straight on. The guard will probably do its job but send the deer through the windshield. You have to keep your eyes open for those two shiny eyes.
Lots of deer (roadkill in Southern Illinois). I think the previous owner took the guard off or hit something with it and never replaced it.

I don't know about sending a deer through the windshield. My family has hit A LOT of deer over the years so there's some experience here. My dad once hit a deer in my MG B and the head hit the hood as it flipped up and completely over the rest of the car! The H3 is high enough that I think you would drive right over the deer after you hit it but I think you would still have grill damage behind the brush guard anyway when the brush guard flexes under the impact.

Take it from someone that has hit a deer in their H3... They explode and what is left spins off to the side... It was a mess. I have pictures, but I'll spare you.

Do you want a replacement H3X brush guard? I have one for sale... If not I would go the route of a full bumper replacement too...
