From the (vague) explanation in my letter, it sounds like it's the fitting at the end of the brake line, that threads into the caliper. Only affected the fronts, not the rears.

On mine, the entire solid tubing portion of the brake line, which is about 10-12" long, along with the fitting at the caliper was what I would describe as excessively corroded for only being 4 years old.

I live in Michigan, but my '08 Alpha was purchased from a dealer in West Virginia (it was shipped up here to us). So far no letter from GM. I guess I could take it to the local GM dealer, but they probably won't have a clue.

I'd check out your lines and see what they look like. If corroded at all I'd run it in. The dealerships should be well informed of the issue.

Got mine yesterday..Spells out 2006 models..and says replacement free of charge up to 10 years/120,000 miles. Mine was registered new in Iowa..

Good to know, thanks!

I didn't notice any rusty brake parts up front but some rear fittings and brackets located over the rear axle are quite rusty on my 2006.
