Unhappy Bought a 2006 Yesterday, towed home tonight!

Hello current Hummer Owners. We just bought a 2006 H2 yesterday. All seemed ok 85k miles. Wife took tonight to car wash, they drove through the car was for her and wiped and vacuumed the interior.

She went out an hour later to get food, and was making a turn and the truck acted like it went in neutral. I know nothing about this truck, except the fluid on trans is clean and does not smell. There are three buttons on dash for transfer case? We put the transmission in any gear, and it will roll. I am hoping something simple about the transfer case selector.

Is there something I should look for, dropped wires under the truck, colors of lights on the dash? There is a very faint click when I selected between the top 4wd button and 4hi and back, but no sound when going to 4lo.

Any guidance? Once we get this fixed, then I will contribute because i was an ASE Master tech for 13 years, but got out of the business 7 years ago. Hopefully it is something like we do not know the right button to push on the dash!!!

the left,4hi button is for normal on road driving.

and was making a turn
if you were in a lock mode, center or right button, making a turn on dry pavement causes stress on the drive train. you dont know how much it was abused in 80000 miles so something might have finally broken.

you really need to read a lot about these things, like on this forum, instruction book, etc

Actually on the H2 the street 4X4 is on TOP.... put the truck in neutral, shift through the different positions to see if they shift.

The H2 makes noise, so there will be no doubt. You will hear the motor shift. If you don't then make note of that.

Leave it in the top position. Always put the transmission in Neutral.
