blinker?

Default blinker?

Recently when turning on my left turn signal it would blink rapidly. This usually indicates a burnt out bulb, so I left the blinker on and got out of my H3 and sure enough the front driver side one was working but the back driver side one was not blinking. Here is where it gets weird. I opened it up today and got ready to put a new bulb in...the current bulb in there is fine. The filament in the bulb is not broken or burnt.

What else could it be? I assume it's not a fuse, else both blinkers wouldn't work.

Background: I recently had a problem where I couldn't push the button in on the shifter to shift out of park & brought it into the shop. When I picked it up, they claimed it was a wiring issue caused by the installation of an aftermarket item on the H3. They weren't specific, but the guy explaining it thought it might be the dvd system in the headrests, which were in it when I bought it used and appear to be factory installed. I did install a sirius radio controller I had installed which plugs into the radio harness. I find this hard to believe as an issue considering I didn't have to cut any wires, etc. It was all a matter of plugging and unplugging except the ground wire I had to run to the frame. I don't think this should affect the blinker, but wanted to mention it just in case. By the way, the sirius works fine on the factory radio, the shifter has been working fine since I brought it in, but about a week after I bought it in for the shifter the blinker started acting up. Another most likely unrelated issue electrically: I intermittently lose power to the dvd head rests.

Anyone have any thoughts about the blinker/know what I can try?

Just for S&Gs, why not replace the bulb with a new one. If that doesn't work, then you may have some electrical gremlins.

My left signal did the same a few weeks ago. When I took the bulb out the filiments looked OK but the bulb had a darker tint to the glass which tells me that something inside blew just enough to still look OK but still put burn marks on the glass. A new bulb fixed the problem and I went ahead and changed the right while I was at it.

It sound like it could be electrical but I had this same thing happen to me on my 85 dodge 600 and the bulbs looked ok, so I changed them for the hell of it and now it's gone. good luck

Question same problem

a cop pulls me over to say my "driving lamp" is out. I assume he meant running lights. when I have the car in drive, the right running light doesn't work nor does the right blinker BUT this is when the car is in automatic. When I turn it from automatic to the 'lights always on' button, the running lights are on, but blinker does not. so does this mean wiring?? I dont get it... the bulb works, so why doesnt it blink or go on when on automatic?

Default 1st change bulb,

then realize that 2 wires go to the back,,thru??brake circuits? and whatever, to the rear bulb. so it can be anything and ALSO the bulb, but all wire and"stuff" in series, the socket contacts,,,etc.
