blacked out muffler
I'm giving my credit to The Green Lantern for the idea I saw somewhere else on the intranets..
So what did I do? I blacked out my muffler. LOL! Sounds stupid, I know, but it makes the truck look better than before (especially since I'm going with a "black box" theme for my rig).
How did I do it? I just bought Duplicolor Engine Enamal spray (in low gloss black). The paint is advertised as being able to withstand 500 degrees, so I hope that my muffler doesn't get that hot. All I did for prep was wipe down the muffler with a rag, and spray it on. WARNING: if you're going to do this, don't try to paint after you drive, you need to let it cool down for it to adhere and all that. I went with a friend to autozone, so I didn't have to wait for any cool down time.
Ok, so I'll shut up & post a pic now:
What do you think?

RE: blacked out muffler
Thanks, I wouldn't have thought of it either if The Green Lantern didn't do it to his rig in the first place. It doesn't make the muffler look any better or any worse, you just don't notice it anymore. Which, considering the accountant imposed looks of the muffler, is a good thing

Riddler, you've got a PM
I couldn't find that one, so I hope that the one I used doesn't crap the bed after driving for a while...
edit: alright alright, I'll paint it all... I just gotta wash everything under there first [:@]
