Black Fuel Door
I know there are aftermarket black fuel doors but could a chrome g.m. fuel door be powder coated black? If so what kind of prep work would it need? My old h3 was all chrome but my new one is all black. Has anyone done this? I like the look of the factory door better than the aftermarket. Steve

RE: Black Fuel Door
I purchased the factory door, took it to a paint shop who got it de-chromed and then it painted the same color. I had this done before installing it.

RE: Black Fuel Door
I purchased the Chrome Hummer fueldoor and had it powder coated. All I did was to take the fuel door apart so there were two pieces and had it sent out for prep and color. After taking the door apart I had the 6 nuts and screws, spring, black rubber stoppers. I removed all these so it was easier for the shop rather than having them take everything apart.
