I also had my shocks replaced about 6 months ago with the Bilsteins - the ride is equally smooth to OEM (before the OEM became worn), but they are a bit firmer in transitions - so more "European". Thus, the truck leans a little less and is a bit firmer over bumps. Or this is my opinion.
Seems like I need to replace that steering damper....

I just installed the bilsteins today. took about 2 hours to do the fronts and rears. I found the wire bundle that runs on the top of the frame on the drivers side was getting damaged from the heat from the exhaust manifold. I was wondering if anybody else had experienced this? I taped up the wire loom with electrical tape and secured it away from the manifold by zip tying it to the brake hard lines on the frame.

UPDATE: Bilstein's installed... They said the rear shocks "shouldn't have on the vehicle and were totally shot", the front's were "leaking for some time", and the steering damper was not leaking but due to be changed. My H2 has 80K miles and rides fantastic now! Smooth yet firm ride, no rolling or nose dive during braking, and a 2-3 MPG increase (just seeing if you were awake!). They also went on sale for ~$80 (X5) each so out the door installed was ~$590.

I was looking online info for the shocks replacement and everywhere shows the Bilstein Heavy Duty (HD) Shocks
BE5-A936-H0 (FRONT RIGHT&LEFT)
BE5-A937-H0 (REAR RIGHT&LEFT)
as the recommended ..... Any reason to go with the 5100 series ... Price is the same for both
No lifted truck ... No used for offroad

From your information, the 936's are 5100 and 937's are 4600 shocks...
I bought mine from 4 Wheel Parts, have 2007, un-lifted with with rear coil springs:

My guess is that even though my H2 isn't "lifted" it is designed for off-road applications and geometry. Other sites I looked at also suggested the 5100/4600 combination...
