Does anyone know if there is a bike rack out there made to carry 4 bikes and swing away to allow access to the rear of an H3? Hint: the Yakima Swing Daddy does not work - the rear tire interfers with an upward portion of the rack.

 

I had the same problem. I found a reciever hitch 4 bike rack at Academy sports and outdoors. It cost 100 bucks basically. I would tell you what brand but Its not here right now. When I got home and put it on, the tube would not clear the spare tire. I went back to academy and bought a 14 inch reciever extention that also has a step on it for 20 bucks. It clears the spare tire now by a foot. The benefit of this is is sticks out far enough that when I fold the rack down with the pin, I can now open the tailgate 100%. Its the worlds largest bike rack. I tie a cooler down to the reciever step extention also.

 

Oh. I just remembered that because the extension goes into the hitch and the bike rack goes into it. I needed another reciever hitch pin. two pins total.

 

I bought a hitch extender, but it was 7" and still did not work with the rear tire. I guess I can try the longer one. I was just worried because they tell you in the instructions not to use the extenders.

 

Good extenders are no problem. I regularly haul 4 bikes and tow a trailer on an extender with an extra upper receiver. Just got to get it past the spare.
