Hi y'all, I'm looking to buy an H1, to drive around town and use for hunting, as my daily driver. Was wondering what year was best value for the money, how much money I should spend and what to look for? I want to use it and keep it for a long time to come. I take great care of my vehicles and enjoy doing so, just hope these are a little better than the sports coupe and sports sedan I'm selling next week, cause I got sick and tired of all the potholes in New York, and want a truck I can use. I don't care about fuel costs because I drive about 7,000 miles a year or less due to my travel/work schedule. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I see some on eBay in 30's range and that's about the budget I just don't want to get a lemon or get burned just want to be an informed buyer when I make a decision and I hope you professionals can steer me in the right direction! In the 30K range probably a 95/96 in either 6.5NA or 6.5TD. If a TD motor run the VIN to see if the block has been replaced. If you can find a truck in those years with the updated HVAC system that is even better. Nice 97-98 trucks are selling for mid-high 30s. The TD trucks have more power but are electronic and so are prone to more issues. The older mechanical trucks are slower but almost bullet proof mechanically speaking.

 

Eddie, there is a mint 2002 H1 we just rec'd for sale in Palm Springs, California with just over 19,000 miles. It is a 2-owner vehicle and though was rarely used by either owner, was upgraded by tens of thousands. Cars out west here in the desert do not deal with much humidity, and there is no visible corrosion anywhere on this H1. No area of this H1 shows much of any use at all, and while it is outside the budget you mention, I thought at least share it with you. Let me know if you are interested, or know someone who might be. Jonathon, great looking truck and while nice, low mileage H1s are getting harder to find at that price the truck will be available for awhile. Good luck with the sale hopefully you find a good home for that truck.

 

Not sure where you're located at. But I have a buddy of mine selling his all blacked out 99 H1. It's the truck not the wagon.
