battery dead, shifter stuck
My battery is dead and my H2 is parked in such a way that I cannot get the hood open to get to the battery. Since the battery is dead I can't move the shifter. Is there a way to release the shifter so that I can put it in neutral, move it and get the hood open?

Yeah.... take the little allen head out of the shifter, remove the shifter handle, remove the insert with the PRD321 slider and the cup holders, and then on the passenger side of the shift mechanism there is a round button a little smaller than a quarter with a spring and a wire bundle, push that in and push down on the yellow insert in the shifter and put it in neutral.

it sounds the same as the h3. unwind the spring and toss it,tape the plunger in and you are free to shift keyless, brakeless batteryless, ANYTIME youre stuck on the rr tracks!!. just get in and shift like you did in the good ol days 50 yrs ago. i did mine and its great.
