Default RE: Backup sensors

Brad, below is a copy of my posting from the 'backup camera' thread...

I think the followinglink will work. It's the entire thread, anda good discussion on backup cams vs. sensors:

Here are a couple of pics of the backup sensor I installed yesterday. It's been 24 hours and I haven't backed into anything! The system is from Crimestopper and is called the "Backstopper Rear Vehicle Impact Warning System". I tried the Walmart camera and wasn't happy with it and returned it. I like this system a lot better. I have several wholesale connections with consumer electronics manufacturers and distributors. Bought this from a distributor of mine. Cost was approx $50.00.

Dennis, I have been really interested in the Dolphin Sonar Step since I first saw your post in this thread. I waswondering if you really liked it? I checked out the link to truckfancy.com that Dilo posted and itappears to be a quality piece of equiptment (It should be for $ 200.00).I also did a search on ebay, but most of the otherunits on therelook like junk. Now that I have mounted a 35" tire on the back, the already limited visibilty has decreased. Any responce would be appreciated.

Yes..I like it a lot..it even detects the curbs behind you...But best of all it's not permanent, as you can put it on anything with a trailer hitch receiver affair, like what's on the HUMMER

I have the Dolphin and like it -when it works. The problem is that you need to keep it clean in order for it not to beep constantly. Being on the trailer hitch, it tends to get dirty easily. I have it plugged into the 12V jack in the cargo area. It is very easy to install and is plenty loud.

I also have added a backup camera (hitchcam) so if I get readings from the sensor, I can verify them with the camera. LOVE the camera.

Hey everybody, thanks for the replies. I think I'm going to order one today. Did I see someone mention discount? I'm all about trying to save a little green! Hummers are just like Harleys. Tons of things to add on and all expensive. LOL

Got my Dolphin Sonar Step in a couple of days ago. Easy install as Disnydad mentioned..... just plug and play. Have had it on for a couple of days and have not backed into anything yet.[]
Will update as opinion of the product grows with use, but so far I like.

Thanks Dennis
