backup camera location

RE: backup camera location
We bought a backup camera off ebay, and a few weeks later the camera had water in the lense and stopped working. Is there any way to prevent this or provide an extra layer of protection from water?

RE: backup camera location
Ok next time I'm at the office I'll try to grab one (its on one of our hummer limos) it has a 7 inch LCD TV screen with dash mount, and a license plate mounted camera, the camera mounts to the two screws that hold the license plate in and the camera is in the middle.
I've thought about next time we buy one (we want to have them on all of our hummer limos) to put a extra layer of see through plastic or acrylic over top the camera to prevent 90% of the water getting to it. Something like those ***** you get out of the gum ball machines that have 25 cent toys in it would work but might not be big enough.
Also a word to the wise on the wireless backup systems they sell at walmart. Don't buy them. We tried one they are grainy, and can pickup other signals while driving.
