I have seen those clear panels, wished I had those on the Hummer from the beginning but I already had a couple of chips/dings there when I bought the H3 last year. After some wheeling and driving over fresh road re-surfacing I had several more chips. I added a rubber strip with a knobby tread molded into it over the front of the door fender. Seems to fit the rugged H3 look a little better than clear vinyl over fresh chips. I don't think you can see the tread pattern in the pic, but it gives you an idea. Harbor Freight had sheets of it last week when I was in there.

I have seen this stuff used on many high end cars where I lieve, and to me it is useless. It doesn't work very well at all, and it looks retarded. I actually like the look of bedlinered fenders/doors better.

Not likely because I spend a lot of time at a high end body shop, but it is possible.

The reason I ask, is because after I put the Xpel product on my rear fenders, the local dealer here was so impressed with how clear and invisible they were, he now stocks some of these for people who complain about getting dings on their H3 fenders.
These strips of clear 15 ml film have taken a fair amount of off road abuse and still look good compared to chipped paint.
I have seen other cars put this on their front hoods and fenders and I too admit that it ends up looking like those clear plastic couch protectors our grandmothers used on their sofas.
