Default BACK TO DEALERSHIP AGAIN!

Hey everyone .I have been reading this forum since I bought a new H3 about 3 months ago. I have had it back to the dealership 3 times already. 2 days after I took delivery there was a transmission vacuum hose hanging down to the pavement. Then i had a crunching noise when I made a left turn that turned out to be the parking brake line that somehow was routed in between one of the mounts. Also all three times was in because of vibration over 45 mph and they changed out all of my tires twice! I also have the steering shaft problem, but they told me not to worry about it. Now I am hearing a squeeking/creaking noise from the front end when going about 10 to 25 mph over a bumpy/uneven road. Also when coming to a smooth stop I hear a clunk clunk noise. I don't know if the two problems are related? Any ideas guys??

HummerGuy Part Duex- The Curse Continues

I dunno why they told you not to worry about the vibration.... or do you mean they said not to worry until your replacement arrives?

The vibration is gone now that the tire situation seems to be fixed. He said not to worry about the steering shaft problem because it is not a safety issue.

Hey Ricknicks. No offense, but they are full of ****. I have the steering shaft problem getting fixed right now. For me, the problem is there is a broken bushing/mount for the steering column gearbox, which causes the box to shift when you do hard turns or turns during corners.

Also, the vibration may not be your unbalanced tires. The drive shafts coming from your front differential thattransfer power to your front wheelshave to be balanced like a tire (I just learned this yesterday from members on here). It could be that the drive shafts are not balanced properly. If the problem went away, it may have been unblanaced tires, but why they would replace them instead of just re-balancing them is kinda goofy. If they don't have people that know how to balance tires, they shouldn't be working on cars.

He........being a service rep I presume? Maybe he should drive your 3 for a couple days, make a payment on it, and then see if you should not worry about the steering shaft rattel/noise.

The rear clunk noise might be related to this. RE: Rotor resurfacing bulletin ???

Sorry Ricknicks. Sounds a lot like what I went through with my first H3 ('06 H3 lux). I was in the dealership almost every month 1 yr after I bought it. I suggest you be very explicit in how they write up your work orders. Your carmay end up qualifyingas a lemon. Lemon law states if your car is in the shop at least 4 times for the same problem it qualifies as a lemon. You may want to look into it. Best of luck!

Hey guys. Just went to dealership this morning anout the squeaking/creaking noise coming from the front end. The service manager came back to me and said you're not going to believe what was making that noise. Apparently it was the two rubber bumpers that the hood rests on when closed. They needed readjusted! Sounded odd to me, but i have driven all day, and not any noises from the front end.
