i know these are newbie questions but i dont own a h3 im just very heavily considering purchasing one and i would like to get the kinks worked out before i do

35's fit stock with no lift and no gearing mods needed. I know of one guy with a 4" lift and 37's with stock gearing also, but I wouldn't recommend that his off the line torque blows.

So what gear ratios are available? I know for the first couple of years it was 4.10s with the 32s and 4.56s with the 33s. Has that changed recently? I cant find anything about 4.10s being available, only 4.56s.

how do the axles handle 35s and 37s off road? anyone know what axles are under it? so im assuming the off road package has 4.56s right? are lower gears available like 4.88s or 5.13s? how do the 35s affect top speed and acceleration?

thanks,
spencer

wow, thats alot of questions....35's on stock axle gearings have made it through the rubicon multiple times, moab, paragon and have never had a problem.Axle gearing is the same on both the adventure package and the base package, only difference between the two is a locking rear diff and the t-case. Top speed has not been affected with my 35,s I still average 80+ on highway. Acceleration seems the same also, was never that good to begin with.

Not sure if they're the same, but the Colorado has an American Axle 8" axle in the rear. Top speed should be higher if you dont reprogram your pcm. Even though your speed limiter would kick in when your speedo read 98, the larger tires (37s for example) would actually have you going about 110mph. The PCM tune (which you should get when you get the large tires anyway) can remove the speed limiter all together if you want.

When did they go to only offering 4.56s?

The adventure pkg also has a 4.03:1 t-case as opposed to a 2.64:1 std.
