Autostart not working, unable unlock car manually
Temps here in Chicago have been in the -40's with windchill, I attempted to use my autostart last night and it would not start, and I was also unable to use my key to unlock the door.
Thinking that purhaps this was attributed to low fuel, I put for gallons of gas in, and attempted the autostart once again, and nothing. However the lights inside the car do turn on, and the radio begins to play, but the engine refuses to start, and I still can not unlock the door.
Anyone have any suggestions?

since gm cant afford 2-4 key locks in a 44000 car, you gotta keep the solitary one well lubed. id squirt in some oil and get the key HOT,HOT a few times.
have you ever used the key?.
call the guy who installed the starter.
btw years ago I installed one that started the car every 4 hrs when cold! by its self.
btw,2 the key lock is mechanical, no electric involved.
pick a cheap window.

You have not indicated if the starter is turning the engine over.
Next, if you battery voltage got so low (by trying to turn the cold motor over) you may have to reset the PCM to get the door locks and driver window to work.
You can search the many "door locks and driver window do not work" threads to see what I mean. Last, if you still have the OEM battery terminals on the truck, this is the kind of weather where they demonstrate just how crappy they are.

How old is your battery? Your battery is either dead, or the terminal connections are insufficient, or both.
That is why your pwr door locks do not work. When you replace the battery and/or POS OEM terminals you will be fine.
The very problem with the OEM battery terminals is when you try to tighten the connections, they get even worse. They just suck. Search that out too. I have NEVER had an issue since switching to Stingers years ago. It only took one time for those things to fail at -9F in my driveway to hack those garbage OEM terminals off and get a quality aftermarket set.

Kick that battery to the curb. Like Doc stated: Change those terminals too..
Vehicle batteries are only good for 3-4 years... As soon as it fails you, REPLACE it... Do not jump it, do not leave it in your truck, as it could cause other problems down the road... GL
