Default Anyone tried nitrous on their H3?

Just wondering if anyone has installed a kit on their H3? Been throwing around the idea. The dealer says that a 75 shot would be safe to run with it being mostly stock. Just over $500 for the kit and a weekend in the garage would be all the cost and would put about 300 horses with intake, exhaust, PCM and nitrous. It should wake it up a bit for passing on the freeway and it is easy to turn off when off roading. Just wondering if anyone has tried it or if you have an opinion on the subject I would like to hear it.

Lookin at a wet kit from NOS.Not sure about the cost or what I might get out of it. I would imagine it would be like anything else, if you are using it alot it wouldn't last long. I'm sure that someone has filled a bottle. Anyone know the cost to fill a 10lb bottle?

And of course the other consideration is the warranty ramifications.

If it is installed and used correctly there should be no adverse effects. In fact my dealer said they would install it for a "small fee". Unsure what he meant but just like everything else if done correctly should be OK.

A75 shot might be kinda big for the I5. If you try it, perhaps go with a slightly smaller plug gap and go a step colder. Cut a couple degrees of timing too.

If your dealer installs and is willing to back you on warranty you should go with it.

You can put a resistor in place of the IAT sensor to tell the PCM the air is actually warmer than it is. You can get up to 6 degrees of timing reduction.

I guess you've never heard the saying that"Nitrous is like a hot chick with STDs. You want to hit it, but you're afraid of the consequences."

If you don't like your engine very much, then yeah, by all means, run a shot of nitrous that is ~1/3 the factory output. Otherwise I'd just steer clear of it for all practical purposes. If you need THAT much power to pass people on the highway then I'd look into something where you're going to have the power all the time, like either going FI or ponying up for the Alpha when it comes out.

Personally I wouldn't trust the dealer tech's knowledge worth a damn when it comes to stuff like that. They're guessing just like you are as far as you know.
