Anyone lowered the rear rather then raised the front?

Rubber for 22" rims is very expensive... usually the smaller diameter your rim the cheaper the tire.

you obviously didn't read what I posted. I bought 22" wheels with 33" tires beause 35's were $1600 for 22's and the 33's were $600 with a 50K tread warranty

my H3 is not a pavement queen and sees off road more than most.
I have 18" wheels with all terrain tires.
I am also interested in leveling the truck by lowering the rear.
My idea of off roading is unimproved roads or no roads at all and driving as fast as possible on trails like rally type driving. I understand many here enjoy climbing over things and feel extra ground clearance is a big benefit.
In my case you only want what is necessary. Keeping center of gravity low is a big help.
if you operating the vehicle at any substantial speeds on trails you will realise that there is way too much body movement.
I am also going to install heavier sway bars and better shocks
Any advise on lowering rear would be appreciated.

I'm coming off a 2007 with Samco Shackles in the rear and cranked to 24.25 in the front, 35 Mud T/As, etc. With my 2010 Alpha I am dragging my feet leveling the front. By the time I traded my 07 in, most of the front end parts were on the downside of their life. I gave the "drop the rear to level it" a thought. Of course, a lot of lot of the members on the forums will have different ideas about this.
There are a few alternatives for lowing I would think. Someone mentioned that they could lower it with shackles. I don't think the stock shackle is long enough as it is, where you could take 3 1/2 to 4 inches out of the c to c length it would take.
A lowering block kit with longer u-bolts should work, although I'm not a fan of block lifts/lowering. If you did research you could find out what would transfer over to the H3 (ie. Chevy 1500, Colorado, etc.).
Another alternative would be to remove the overload or one of the others from the leaf pack. I have no experience with lowering this way, although I have had good success with adding a leaf the pack. At one time I had the Tuff Country rear add-a-leaf on the rear of my 2007 H3... You could have the stock H3 spring pack de-arched by Deaver or a place local to you.
For the record, there are people on this forum a lot more knowledgeable than me, but I don't think most of them are really into the idea of lowering, in any way, an H3.
Just my take on it.

I have seen the block lowering kits and I too am NOT a fan of that. Thanks for the positive input from those that have contributed that way. I will continue to research the other options and will post if anything pans out for those on the forum that are into lowering "in any way"
