I am getting alot of squeeks from the front brakes now so I was curious if anyone has changed it and about how long it took? Any special tools required for the hummer h3? Anyone take pics?

I changed mine about 6 months ago, about 35K miles. I wasn't squealing yet but was really getting done there, so I changed themso I didn't have to touch myrotors. Itonly took me 20 minutes a side to do, I ended up buying a couple of cans of brake cleaner and cleaning up everything and painting my brake calipers at the same time, came out mine!

Good Luck! [sm=gears.gif]

I had 35k on my '06 and they were squeaking a little at the very end of every stop. I took the wheel off the front one and there was at least 50% pad left. So I took it in to the dealership and they replaced all 4 for free, saying the new 08's have "upgraded" pads and they've been getting a lot of issues with the '06's. Not really sure what the issue was though..

Just thought I'd mention that..

No special tools needed, if I remember right I used a 18mm socket, screwdriver, hammer, a hex head (can't remember what size). If you have all the basic tools in aset, your all set. The only thing I went to buy was a cheap large C clamp to close back up the piston on the caliper and that was about $8.00 at Ace True Value.

I have 42XXX miles on mine and rotated my tires last week. I checked the pads at they have plenty of material left, but I did notice that the front rotors are pretty grooved. I have noticed a drop in braking power, but that may be due to me not bleeding the brakes in the 3+ years I've owned the H3. Has anyone done a full brake fluid replacement themselves or did you take it to the dealer? Thanks,

Mike
