American Red Cross & H.O.P.E.
Is anyone here a member of, thought about signing up, or even know what this is? On hummer.comthey talk about the Red Cross and H.O.P.E (Hummer owners prepaired for emergancies). A group accross the country that responds in times of disaster. Just want to know if anybody has any experiance with this. Seems like a good cause.

you register with the red cross and then you drive your vehicle where it is needed... if needed... I.E. Katrina disaster.
There is a pretty good article on it in this quarters Hummer Club magazine... I dunno how you would get it without being a member though.

Anyone who is interested can go to www.hummerhope.com Mike Morris is the national director. There are three requirements which are not difficult to complete 1. The Hummer Club Inc membership 2. Hope trail certification 3. Red Cross certification.
It could be a lot of work but you can control that. What Mike does is send out a request for deployment when called on by the Red Cross on a naional level. You will also be registered with the local Red Cross group and could assist on a local level and not deploy nationally at all. For example in weather related storms the local agency may just need assistance getting emergency personnel into an area or Doctors & Nurses to the hospital. It is a rewarding experience and a way to give back just a little bit but you can control how much.
