RE: American Flag at Hummer dealership
Reading the story elsewhere, there does seem to be something odd. The reason the current flag was supposed to be under review is not due to the flag, but to the flagpole height. The city bylaw only allows structures of up to 75" within the area the car lot is zoned for. As the dealer stated he had already purchased a 100' pole, the city voted togive a variance to the dealer, with a 6 month probation period, which they forgot to review when the 6 months was up. If the dealer gets a 75' pole, there is no problem, so it seems there is some posturing going on, as if he can put up a flagpole anyways, what is another 25'?
