Alternator removal
#2
Peeked under the hood the other day to do regular maintenance and wondered the same thing.
I have a 2007 I5 and would appreciate anyone who has done this to give a blow by blow as to how to replace the alternator.
Is the procedure the same for the 3.5 and the 3.7 ?

There's two ways to do it... one is to remove the fender and wheel well, the other is to remove the intake manifold and what not... neither are easy... I think the GM book quotes 8hrs for labor... Had one replaced under warranty but now I want a beefier one so looks like I'll figure it out first hand...

sorry!
lost my connection 2 hrs ago, the book says remove wheel, fender liner,THEN,THE AIR COND COMP. that was the catch. nobody likes doing that.
on many veh u can move it aside.
i dont know what the guy did b4 in the post earlier
the starter requires the intake,,,definetly not a user friendly vehicle,,fun to drive, not to fix!!
