Default Alpha Throttle Response

How is everyone's throttle response on their Alpha? I noticed that mine has noticeable lag time. Like for example if you're on the freeway and put it to the floor you can almost go "one one thousand, two one thousand" before it rev's up and the power comes. It's not quite that bad, but almost. I don't really think the extra weight I have in the back would effect it that bad.

Anyone care to comment or have any ideas as to what I could try? My throttle body was cleaned recently, and I recently cleaned my air filter. I know my plugs are not due to be changed till 100k but who knows, I'm honestly pretty stumped but have just come to accept that's how my Alpha is.

When I hit the throttle on mine it's 'right now'

I don't recall ever having a lag, but maybe the Air Doc, Magna Flow cat back and K&N have something to do with it?

I have an AirDoc and Superchips Cortex and the "throttle delay" is not an issue any more.

We have a "drive by wire" system. The skinny pedal does not connect directly to the TB by a cable.

I think what he is saying (Taint, please correct me if I am wrong), is that if there is a "throttle lag" it is very likely due to the programming of the truck's computer.

And getting an aftermarket "flash" can help.

Taint....curious....why did you go with the Superchips over the PCMforless?

My programming is stock as well. I don't think my throttle response is as bad as Draketh is describing... but it could be better.

I agree, but I think the "could" is the problem. The programming could also be hosed up to and make it slower.
