Alignment Needed after New Shocks?

Is an Alignment needed after installing new Bilstein shocks?

If so, why...

I read on one of the threads here that an alignment WAS needed after installing new shocks but I am not sure why...

I don't think you need one if you just installed shocks. Did you level it out too? If so, then I would recommend getting one.

Not needed with new shocks. If you raise the front end by turning the torsion bars an alignment is needed.

It's been raised and aligned previously. Just following up with the shocks and extended bump stops today.

No need to realign after getting shocks and bump stops. I asked that same question of the shop that installed my shocks and they said it's not necessary.

Changing shocks does not change any alignment settings and is not needed.
