Default Air horn

Was thinking of putting one in since the factory horn is weak, local shop quoted 745.00 installed, no way am I spending that and it sounds high to me. What have you guys replaced the horns with for more sound?

"Highway Blasters" from Autozone, they were about $20 cheap and made by one of the global OEM horn suppliers. They do sound more like Cadillac-Pimp horns than their advertised "big rig truck" sound but I still like them.

I have a neighbor down the street, about three houses away and he bought those WOLO brands air horns. I don't know which model, but similar to what Broken Halo bought.
They are ridiculously loud. He blasted them several times when new, but has eased off now.
They do sound like a Semi trailer rig.

Default So then

Air horns are pricey, at 450 on eBay then install and tax, he is not crazy at 745.00, I just would not spend that much. I will look at Autozone. Thanks

1971 Cadillac Eldorado Delux Four Horn set, puled from the local pick-n-pull. Less than $50.

Not full air horn loud, but loud enough to make the attention getting sound of tuned horns from yesteryear.

I have the same thing that Doc has, except mine are all snail horns instead of the one trumpet. It's plenty loud and gets peoples attention.

People are surprised to hear that sound come out of a hummer too. Whenever I take it in for a car wash or service, the employees usually honk my horn 2 or 3 times instead of the 1 that everybody else gets. lol

I went with the Wolo Big Bad Max for the H3, much deeper tone than the Wolo Bad Boy we have on the H3T. I also added a PIAA low tone snail to fill in the sound gap between the stock hi tone (weak) and the very low Bad Max.

A cheap way to upgrade is to hit a pick-n-pull or some place along the same lines and get a set off a big caddy or buick, I have been putting the Wolo Bad Billy horns on my vehicles for years if you get a pair they are pretty loud, a little high pitched for some but you can hear it. Harbor Frieght usually has them in stock at the store here, or ****** a pair off line.
