Default Advice needed for replacement parts. '04 H2

Hi everyone, this is my first post here. I bought a Yellow 2004 H2 a few months ago and I'm in love with it. I wish I would have bought one sooner!! I've been adding lots of things to make it unique (brush guard, tail lights brush guards, tinted windows, tires/rims) etc.

I need some advice after a recent oil change in which they did an over all check on it. They had about $2500 worth of things they wanted to replace or fix. $1k of it was steering related things and they said some things were leaking etc. They also wanted to replace all front and back shocks/suspension etc ( I can understand that, being so used).
They said replacing alot of this stuff was common with GM vehicles and it's to be expected.

So I'm wondering who all has had to replace a lot of front end components and who has just "let it go". I'm thinking I'll just see what I get out of it and if something breaks I'll get it fixed when I cross that road.

Thanks,
Dan

Id go and get a 2nd and even 3rd opinion and make sure they arent bending u over. If all consistent id do it now before more damagd occurs from the current issues.

Good looking H2. What kind of tires/size did u get?

They are great IMO. Noise isn't an issue at all. They are all terrain and severe snow rated.

I'm probably gonna get 2 more opinions on it from some local places then I'll go from there. I would like to get replacement shocks though for sure. I'm sure these stocks ones are beat

Here's some good ones. before brush guard was put on

Depending on how many miles you have on your H2 its a safe bet you probably need all new steering linkage and hubs. Shocks on the H2 are suprizingly stout I would wait to replace them and do all of your linkage first.

If you do not do your linkage and just "let it go" its going to cost you WAY more in the end by burning up your tires faster and causing more stress on other steering components thus causing them to wear faster and/or fail.

The H2 eats Idler and pitmans for breakfast, tie rods for lunch and finishes off its day with hubs at dinner. All these parts are reasonably easy to replace but labor intensive. I like to call it Dumb Hard work. Meaning simple work just physcially demanding.

Looking good man..Tires look really good. I like that they have a more aggressive look than the stock BFG's. Is that stock height? or maybe you had the front leveled??? Looks very clean.
