Default AC problem, blows cold OR hot but not in-between

so suddenly while owning 2009 h3 with auto transmission i5 engine

the temperature control is useless

turning it counterclockwise to the end will get me cold air

just one click clockwise will get me "HOT" Air

before it was fine

tried to enable and disable recycle (no help)

tried to do it with comoressor kicked in or out (same results)

the problem is which is i am thankful that the ac is freezing cold
i wish if i can increase the temperature a bit to my liking but no joy

thanks ;(

edit; got the upper radiator plastic peice replaced it was leaking however it didn't overheat

i don't remember if the problem was before or after the leak but i am 95÷ sure it was there before the leak

Default Temperature gauge with AC running

Is it normal for the temp gauge of an H3 to register between half and three-fourths to the hot range?

really appreciate your help,
my searching skills wouldn't get to that link apparently( i admit i didn't think of searching thought my case is isolated incident and never thought of diy fix, thought the whole thing needs replacement)

you got the right term "climate control" i would have used temp control or other terms

the full diy is posted in page 4 by Hunner

i may start doing it soon, just lots of trouble getting ac power to the garage to run the solder iron

thanks Doc Olds

you could do a tight twist on the wires or two small wire nuts. theres no current involved

you indicated a problem getting soldering stuff in place. my suggestion is to just add the resistor by twisting or wire nutting instead of soldering.

im assuming you are trying the mod/fix using a resistor.
