95 H1 power steering grump
Anyone recommend an aftermarket brand power steering pump? I am talking one that comes as one piece not just the front. Ive replaced mine twice and have finally worn the back case out.. where the lines coming off have broken off like it was made of tin foil!! Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I don't know if they make them like that. I replaced mine on my 94na and it wasn't the pump its just the POS case. Try tapping the case on there with a rubber mallet and tighten the bolt as far as they will go. You can also get some silicone and seal the case so it wont leak.

I have a friend with a H1, who is having fits with his power steering pump. It seems it failed and he replaced it with a new duramax chev pump. I read somewhere the pressure control valve in the back of the pump must be changed to use that pump. Symtoms are hard steering when the brakes are applied. I surmise that the hydroboost is robbing thr power steering when the brakes are applied, as the hydroboost is 1st in line with the pump. Anyone got any better ideas? Does anyone know where I can find this valve ( it's the one at the back of the pump where the p/s hose comes out).

Check out hummerpartsguy.com for power steering pumps. Dave(hpg) has them on sale.
If you had a pump ( or gear box) go bad it will push metal debris thru the system. You need to flush the entire system very thoroughly- pump, hydro booster, cooler and gear box. The debris in the system probably trashed your second pump. My personal opinion is Lucas Oil Products are some of the best fluids on the market. Make sure the cooler is not internally plugged up, or just replace the cooler.
