So I was looking at some accessories - specifically some trim items - and they all said that they attach with 3M tape. One even said that it was "OEM performance tape". Is it true that an off the lot H3's accessories are held on with 3M?

Has anyone put anyhting on their rig with 3M tape? Did it work?

 

the fact of the matter is, hummer aside. 3M tape is amazing. well the mounting strips. because they come off cleanly.

havnt attached anything to the hummer, but i have attached loads of items to my motorcycle and its going well.

i dont see why it wouldnt work

 

I HAVE NOT LIKED 3M STUFF A LONG TIME, oops no caps lite, i hd stuff fall off other cars and found it stayed on with "off"brand tape. on one job i drilled a hole and ran a backup wire to avoid loosing a "precious" part.
i think i got some tape at good old walmart.

btw i used miles of plastic elect tape in the antenna business and i SWEAR BY Taiwan tape, the cheapest is the best, in winter 3m wont stick to itself!

I actually bought the chrome covers for my handles.. There guaranteed and they attatched to the handles with the 3M. That stuff is AMAZING! I was a little weary at first, but took off the protectors, slid them over my handles, pressed for about 10 seconds really hard, and those suckers are ON, and by the way look fantastic! I chose to go with just the covers, so if I choose to go back to the Black, I can do so. also, ALOT cheaper. I did keep my side view mirrors black, and I really like the way it looks. I don't like all the Chromey look, but I have a pewter colored H3 with the Chrome step bar. Just wanted to add a little more Chrome, but not to flashy. As for the Black mirrors go with my center hubcaps which are the stock Hummer rims with the black Hummer writting hubcaps. Anyhoot, 3M seems to be great! Don't be worried!

 

if you think that the 3m tape won't hold, put a little dab of super glue on it
