Default 35" tires help

So I'm looking into getting some 35" tires for the H3 and I found 2 sizes.
35x12.5 R20 for $426
295-65R20 for $385
What's the diffrance between the two and why is everyone getting the 35x12.5 instead other sizes?

Oh and by the way I'm getting 20" rims too

315/75R16 is most popular for 35" on H3

20" rims no good for rock crawling

that had absolutely nothing to do with what he asked.

The only reason I can think as to why people would buy the 35x12.50x20 is that most people do not understand metric tire sizing, and no offense to the op but it's more difficult to brag about your 35s on 20s to most people and they cannot just look at the side of the tire to see if your telling the truth.

295/65r20s are about 35.5" tall, so a little bigger. Also there are not alot of tire choices in the 295's.

Will mpg drop that much?? Or will a smaller wheel (18"rim)or (33" tire) be better??

One has a width of 295mm the other one about 315mm so almost an inch difference in width.
From what I have heard is that with those big tires, the engine Read the 5 cyl) has a hard time keeping up especially with head wind or hills. So in town no big deal but on the highway not fun. Your mileage will decrease 10-15%.

I would go 33 inch. You will be a lot happier unless the bling factor is the most important factor.

I have an H2 and went from 37 to 35 inch and the ride is much better now

i run 295/70/18s on mine, and i get 12 everywhere unless you try to run the speed limit on the highway and then I get 10. I have spent as much on engine mods as I did on wheels and tires
