Thanks much everyone. I'm 90% sure I'm going to go with the 33" DuraTracs. 35" are awesome but I don't want to loose too much power b/c this is my daily driver.

285/75/16 Duratrac

 

My experience with the Duratracs is that they are outstanding offroad, reasonably quiet on road, and look good. On the down side, I have lost about 1 MPG changing the OEM 33" tires to the Duratracs.

 

This is one of the best shots that I ave head on. These were my 285/75/16 Mickey Thompson Baja Claws. They were great on the road, but I didn't care for them off road. They weren't aggressive enough for what I needed them for.







These are my 33 x 10.50 x 16 Boggers. They measured the same as the claws. They fit the truck very well! They fit in the wheel well and they don't stick out at all. It helped with keeping the rock chips and dirt to a minimum.

 

I had always thought 33s were probably more common than anything else. They were a factory upgrade on some models from the 31s. Mine are 33s.

I agree! I'll post pics when I get my 33s on. Might be a while b/c I'm saving up the cash but now I know what I want to get.

The 33's are very capable offroad as well if you have the right tire...

but it never stops amazing me how one guy on 33's can struggle and the guy right behind him on 35's on the same line walks it...

 

I've attached a photo of the stock Hummer wheel with LT285-75R16 (33") Bridgestone Deuler AT tire. Also a photo with new 18" Cepek with Nitto Trail Grappler LT295-70R18 (34.6") next to it. Just put the Cepeks/Nittos on yesterday and getting an alignment tomorrow morning, as I leveled the front end to 23.5" before mounting the new stuff. Haven't driven it much yet, but heads are really turning. One guy walked into a street sign as he looked back at us earlier today, .
