Default 30k mile service???

My mother-in-law just bought a nice 06 H3 about a month ago. She took it into the dealer for a brake fault warning light that came on(not sure what it said). Anyway, they are telling her that the truck needs to have 1) Induction service to clean carbon build-up, and 2) Throttle Plate cleaning for 30k miles.
Not to mention front brakes for $210, that's seems more reasonable.
Anyone hear of this? If so, what does it do and what are the benefits?
Thanks

RIP-OFF ALERT!!! On the 2007 H3 (and I suspect on the 06 as well) there is no 30K mile service called out. The 25K service calls for 1. Inspect fuel system for damage or leaks., 2. Inspect exhaust system for loose or damaged components. Nothing else.

There is no item listed for either induction cleaning or throttle plate cleaning EVER. That doesn't mean they are never appropriate, but that calling it a 30K service and trying to pass it off as manufacturer required strikes me as a dealer trying to take advantage of an unsophisticated owner.

And why would you expect to have a brake problem at 30K miles?? Shouldn't be normal wear and tear. Wouldn't that be a warranty item?

I was suspecting as much. The brakes just passed Maryland inspection 2 weeks ago!
Thanks!

Checked my manual, brakes are normal wear items, and aren't covered under the warranty.
FYI

They may be normal wear items, but brakes needing significant repair after only 30K miles doesn't strike me as "normal". And at that the normal wear items are rotors and shoes. If those are worn out at 30K that seems weird but maybe reasonable. If other brake parts are worn out or broken with that low a mileage, I'd be suspicious of a manufacturing flaw. Now I'm no expert, but it don't smell right.
