Default 265/75/16 tire questions

Just bought a Hummer H3, so far a I really like it. Sadly it needs new tires. The ones that I like best for the price are these. I just want to make sure they are good tires before I buy them. - Walmart

Let me know I really cant afford to spend 1000$ on tires.

I can never find more than 3 good tires of the same thing on CraigsList, you might try a wheel and tire (oops, dat should be rimz an shooz ) store in the area. I find a lot of H3 wheel take-offs and usually they have the stock tires offered up as well.

Walmart has Goodyear Tracker 2 Tires P265/75R16s for 137.50 sit to store on line. These tires have very good reviews especially for a light duty truck street tire.

If you want a more aggressive all terrain tire the new Cooper Discoverer just got the best AT rating from Consumer Reports:

I recently bought the goodyear duratracs, and I cant be happier. Snow, rain, or mud, they preformed well so far! And they look good!

But on a side note... this is not a good time to buy these type of tires, for all prices jumped as of Nov. 1st...

I know the Duratracs are great for traction, how are the road manners? Does it make the ride harsh? My wife is the primary driver and she rarely leaves the road, so road manners are important for my peace of mind.

Any reason you plan on sticking with a 265? I would upgrade to a 285 IMHO. What are your plans? How do plan on using the 3? Were do you live? How many miles do you drive a year? I guess its hard to say what tire is best for you with out this information.
