Smile 22inch rims for paved road snow conditions???

My 2010 H3T has 305/45/22 tires but I need to get tires for winter as we live at 7000ft in So Cal mts ... Any suggestions about safety of 22's in snow conditions?

I have a co-worker with a chevy pickup that has 20's and he says they're horrible in the winter and he always switches them out.

22's are going to be really wide. Snow tires are skinny by design, so if you're worried about snow, I would recommend using your stock rims with tires that have a good snow rating like duratracs or blizzaks. Duratracs can also be studded.
