Government Motors doesn't make any money by doing this.

I agree, the Hummer I currently have will be the last one I own. I don't mind buying foreign made vehicles, but I refuse to buy one that's made in China.

And before anyone says it, I know the deal says they are to be produced here until 2012. But here's the thing, once the deal is closed the Chinese will shutter the American production facilities and set up shop in China. That's a guarantee.

Hummer was an American icon. A representative of American pride and ingenuity. Now that is gone and Hummer is dead. We can all say this sale is good because it ensures the survival of the brand. But here's the thing, what is a brand without the very thing that made it a brand in the first place? The Hummer brand is dead and with it so is future of Hummer in the American automotive market.

Like it or not, it's time to buy a Jeep or pickup truck again. My next vehicle will be a Ford F250 or a Toyota Tundra. Both are assembled right here in America. It's a shame, Hummer had huge potential. They're certainly the best looking SUV's on the road. But it's all over now. GM signed Hummer's death warrant.

Yeah you've said it perfectly. my hummer is absolutely perfect. sure its gas milage isnt good. but it has loads of other positives. come on a Range rover uses way more than a H3.

but in this case, im keeping my H3, who knows, maybe it will gain some value as there will be no more GM hummers.v

This is what scares us about purchasing the new Hummer also, supporting a Chinese corporation.

But when I look at things like my running shoes, everything seems to originate from China! I tried finding shoes made in the USA. Not easy to do.

I don't know. I am beginning to change my mind or justify my instincts and give up the idea of owning a Hummer.

It would appear that H32006 was given accurate information when he was told that U.S. production of the HUMMER H3 would end in 2010.

It is my opinion, that he is owed more than a couple apologies from the members on this forum who flamed him for sharing the information he was given.

I'm hoping you are kidding and just trying to get things riled up again (I love a good controversy). This article (nothing new if you look at hummerguy.com from earlier in the week) is just talking about a temporary halt in production.

"When a sale is complete, once marketing kicks back in and there is new interest and enthusiasm, production will fire back up," Richards said today.

And besides, my wife's second cousin's boyfriend's Dad has a friend who knows someone who works at the plant cafeteria and everyone there knows they are going to keep making the H3 until the world ends in 2012. And that's the fact, Jack.

bro this should make you want to buy a hummer more, if anything. and like ASAP.

there will be no more GM hummers after this time period is over. never. ever. again.

dont lose a chance you may regret.

H3DONIST, appreciate the sentiment and it is far from necessary.

In the process of closing things out with my insurance company and so hope to be able to come back here to announce that a new H3 is back in the family, protecting the family as soon as possible.

I'm scheduled to go down to the auction place that has my current H3 and will remove the magnaflow exhaust pipes and the supercharger (insurance company refused to assign it a value above $0, amazing.).

Amazing how :30 seconds in time can rule your life for a long time to come and it ain't easy to get the pieces back together again as quick as you would like it.
