I just bought a 09 H3 without a towing package. I ordered the receiver hitch assembly, but I am having a hard time getting a straight answer on the wiring harness. Does the 09 come with a wiring harness that accepts a t connector, or do you still have to hard wire in the 4 wire style connector? thanks in advance.

 

I just did this exact thing on my 09 H3. I bought the hitch online, bolted it up no problem.

For the wiring: It did not have the T-Connector. I did have all 4 necessary wires tucked behind the rear bumper from the factory so all I had to do was splice those into my wiring harness. Check behind your bumper and I would be you have the same chunk of wires tucked up there somewhere. Mine were just left of the center of the vehicle.

Yep, exactley the same for my 06! Follow the wire harness to the back of the bumper just left of center and you'll find the 4 colored wires studded out waitin for connector to be added. Easy, peasy Japanesze
