Default 2008 Alpha supercharger and lift kit

My wife and I live in Bad Axe, MI (thumb area about 100 miles north of Detroit) and own a 2008 H3 Alpha. We are thinking about buying a supercharger kit and want to have a 4" lift kit installed. Does anyone have any suggestions who we should contact in Michigan to have these things installed PROPERLY and professionally? We love our Hummer and don't want to have any Cheap Charlie working on it.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I don't know about anyone making a supercharger kit for the H3, but Mash Motors in Witchita, Kansas can transplant a 6.0L Vortec V8 and auto tranny into the H3. Power starts out at 325 and goes up to 495HP! Three weeks of work and you have a new driveline with no check engine codes. I think they even have options for lockable hubs if you don't want full-time 4wd. Outside of that, there aren't many choices out there for BIG power.

There are a few different supercharger kits available, between $6200 and $7600. Google "2008 H3 Alpha Supercharger Kit" and you'll see what I mean. Buying the kit won't be a problem. Having the installation done correctly is my fear. I know a few guys around here who own nice toolboxes and wrenches that think they can do anything. I'd be scared to death to let them even change the oil in our Hummer. I put up the post to see if any Michigan Hummer owners could give me a solid recommendation for someone to do the installation. Thanks for your response.

Hello Michigander! I am very involved with the HUMMER scene here in MI as well as OH, IN, IL and WI. If you have any specific questions or want to go out and wheel with us, please feel free to send me a PM with your email or ph #.

I would suggest a Rancho 4" lift kit! As with any lift kit for the H3 you will have to purchase new wheels 17" or larger with a specific backspacing to clear the new dropped knuckles. With that you will also have to purchase new tires to go with said rims.

As far as the supercharger and lift kit contact Brodie of Ridge Demon. He is a MI guy located in Oakland County. He will have the contacts to get the supercharger for you and have it properly installed by guys who do that kind of thing all the time.
sales@ridegdemon.com. Tell him TAINTER sent you!

Unlimited Offroad Centers in Fenton, MI not too far from you in the thumb has done installations of the Rancho kits for some buddies. They are good guys and know their stuff! Tell'em the guy with the Blue Alpha H3 and Grey H3T sent ya!

Thanks TAINTER.

I called the place in Fenton this morning. We discussed using the T-bolts to level the front end and add Bilstein shocks instead of installing any lift kit. The fellow I talked with said he'd call me back this afternoon, but he never did.

My wife and I are hoping that would allow us to put Dick Cepek DC-2 18x9 (-13mm offset) wheels with Nitto Trail Grappler LT295-70R18 tires on our Hummer without having any rubbing problems or requiring any lift kit to be installed.

What is the reason for 17" wheels? I've never heard that and was under the assumption 16" would work fine.

Shoot, you don't even need to crank the T-bars for 295s but it does look a lot better when they are adjusted!

Heck, save yourself the $ and buy the Trail Duty front shock and bumpstop kit and drive to my house (across 69 and down) and we can get it done. Easy as pie! You will need to have an alignment done after adjusting the T-bars, after they settle down a bit (1-3 days). I'll do it for a few beers and it would be nice to meet ya!

"The recommended tire size for this suspension system is 35” x 12.5”. The maximum wheel backspacing is 5 inches on 20” wheels and 4.5 inches on 17” and 18” wheels. For 37” tires, trimming the fender is required. Before installing any other combination, consult your local tire and wheel specialist."

Livernois Motorsports in Dearborn, MI can set you up with a magncharger or a whipped supercharger. They can do the install and tuning also. They are a sponsor of motownmuscle.com and they build some serious vehicles there. Rick took me on a tour last time I was there. Tons of cars, camaros and mustangs, and trucks getting magnachargers, headers, tuning. Goodluck!
